Nurturing Parenting Workshops

Topic: Communicating with Respect

Please call to sign up for as many of these workshops that interest
you. The Workshops are free and they may fill up, so sign up is
required. Free childcare and dinner is provided.

To reserve a seat, please contact MSCC’s office at 541-346-4384. Please, give them your Name, phone #, and how many children you will need childcare for. This helps us plan for care and dinner provided.

Youth Swim Lessons

The UO PE & Rec Department is excited to start offering youth swim lessons in our new warm water aquatic facility at the Student Rec Center! Swim lesson registration will begin on January 12, 2015 with online and in-person registration options.   The first session will run February 7-28, 2015.  Thirty minute lessons will be offered between 10:15am and 12:30pm on Saturdays.  We will be offering Starfish Swim School® for Preschoolers  (ages 3-5) and Youth (ages 6-12). Rock Wall Climbing, Family Swim, Open Tumbling and Open Gym, Badminton, Tennis, and Ping Pong!

Art Access VSA Workshops for K-12 Children with Special Needs

Saturdays, January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, and May 9,  11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Drop in studio sessions featuring accessible art lessons and activities for K-12 children with special needs instructed by OHSU occupational therapist and artists. Free, but reservations are required. Contact Nori Rice at norikor@uoregon.edu or (541) 346-6443 to register.

 

Class for Teens: Digital Mixed-Media

Saturdays, January 24, January 31, and February 7, 1-2:30 p.m. Scholarships available

Grades 7-12, $85 ($76.50 for JSMA Members)

Instructor: Carolina Reese

Learn how to combine digital art and photography with more traditional art forms. Students will incorporate painting and collage with digital art created with InDesign and Photoshop.

After School Art Class: Pop Art

Wednesdays, January 21-March 11, 3:30-5p.m.

Registration deadline: January 16

Grades 1-5, $90 ($81 for JSMA Members)

Instructor: Arthurina Fears

Learning from Pop artists like Andy Warhol, Ellen Gallagher, and Roy Lichtenstein, students will create prints, comic strip images, bound books, and collages.

Saturday, December 13th from 11am until 3pm

FREE!!!

Spend a fun-filled day at the museum enjoying free family-friendly activities including musical instrument making, ex-voto painting, murals, holiday card printmaking, story time in Spanish and English with Eugene Public Library, and musical performances by Springfield High School’s Mariachi del Sol. The family day coincides with the Feast Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
