Couch to 5K Training – FREE

 

Come join our personal trainers in the Student Rec Center Lobby at 5:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays for FREE 5K training!  No registration necessary!

Healthy Oregon, a Healthy Campus Initiative and it’s partners have joined forces to bring you a six-week 5K training program (beginning September 30) that culminates with participation in the 2013 Run with the DUCK 5K race on November 9th , 2013 @ 9:00am on Hayward Field.

The training program uses a combination of weekly groups training sessions and individual workouts to help you get in shape, feel great and train for the event. There are three different training programs offered: Walk, Walk-to-Jog and Run.  The program is designed so that you could follow the training calendar entirely on your own, but participation in weekly training sessions is HIGHLY encouraged for support, motivation, challenge, and variety.

Personal training staff lead weekly group training sessions – you can attend any and all sessions that fit your schedule and goals.And what better way to test your training skills.

The 5K event is free to all students, faculty and staff.  Community members are welcome to participate for a small fee.
